Tasmanian Wedding Video // Nikita + Mitch

It was quite difficult being in Brisbane and organising a wedding in Tasmania and trying to find vendors. When we found the Love Lab, it “felt right”. The way you capture a couples love and turn it in to a cinematic experience is right up our alley!! It was SO GREAT working with you!  The team is so easy to work with and I barely noticed you there. You’re like a fly on the wall that captures every intimate detail of the day! When I received my film I cried for the first seven times and watched it on repeat. Then I had a break to finish my wine. Watched it another five times and cried even harder. It was so amazing reliving the best day of our lives through the eyes of the Love Lab. Admittedly, videography was quite the afterthought for us, and we weren’t entirely sure if we even wanted video of the day. Looking at our film, I am 150% happy that we trusted Lewa’s vision and invested in this incredible film.” – Nikita and Mitch

A black wedding dress. A giant, bearded man who could wear “whatever the hell he wants.” Right from the start, Nikita and Mitch were unapologetically themselves. And we loved it.
I tell peeps that our films aren’t aren’t really about the wedding day, but what’s underneath.
Our films encapsulate what marriage looks like for that couple. It’s not about “completing” each other but “adding” to each other; bringing something more powerful to the world as the sum of the individual parts.
When Nikita first got in touch she said they’d be having an intimate non-traditional ceremony with their family at Thalia Haven on the East Coast of Tasmania.
We had the privilege to film them walking down the aisle on a clifftop ceremony overlooking the ocean, her two brothers performing a traditional Māori dance – the ‘haka” – in honour of their roots and heritage.
The only thing more epic than the adventure itself was honouring family and culture. Love should be celebrated, no matter where you come from. And true connectivity creates true happiness.
Nikita and Mitch, you are deeply connected. And it was an honour to witness it.
Thank you for including us.
We felt like family and It’s the first time we’ve been fed a 5-course meal at a wedding! Chur bro!
