Tasmanian Wedding Video Josef Chromy.
You totally blew us away with our film! We love the personal touch and each time we watch it we see something new like the little hockey sticks under our names.
We first heard about The Love Lab through our photographer. Then as soon as we saw the films on your website, that was it! We loved the unique and personal style of each one – everything from the music to the cute little name motif. The Love Lab were so great to work with in the lead up to the day. They were super organised and pointed out important things like run sheets (which I became slightly obsessed with haha!). On the actual day we hardly noticed you guys. It was so relaxed and I think this was a pleasant surprise to Matt as he was initially concerned about having too many cameras around!
Our first reaction to when we saw the wedding film is we cried! We both agree that our wedding day was the best day of our lives. The film captured so many perfect moments that we remember as well as many that we didn’t even know happened. It was such a good investment. While photos are beautiful and can be displayed in a way that films can’t, our film captured things photos can’t. It is so nice to have the film to take a quick trip back to that special day.
Thanks again, Candace x
“So I want to tell you a story. A few months ago Candace was compiling the worlds most detailed spread sheet for this Tasmanian wedding and the topic of the wedding video came up. I wasn’t too keen on the idea being a 6’3 92kg human. I put on my manly voice and said “I don’t want a video”. Candace looked at me, listened, pondered and then rebutted “I do want a video!” (Pointing to our camera’s) Now we’ve got cameras there and there, capturing every moment. The obvious question is why wouldn’t you want a wedding video? It’s the most important and best day of your life. The answer is simple, and you’ve already seen it earlier; there’s a 99% chance that I’ll be crying in the next five to ten minutes and that’ll be a constant reminder on how truly manly I am.” – Matt Guest, Groom.
When Matt started his speech by talking about the importance of wedding videography, we were blown away! Not only did his words ring true, but he delivered it with the most incredibly witty humour. For me, emotions and vulnerability is empowering. My favourite moment is seeing the groom’s emotional reaction of his bride coming down the aisle. Perhaps they’ve waited a long time; in this case, 13 years. And after all these years, here she is; she’s finally been “given” to him. Sure, she looks pretty and meticulously styled, but it’s not about that. A wedding represents something much more; symbolic gesture of the coming together of two hearts, two minds and two families. It’s the commitment and responsibility of creating a whole new family unit together.
That’s the point for why I do wedding videos. For me it’s to remind the couple about the beauty in marriage and the vows they took for one another. You see, the video is not REALLY about the wedding; it’s about the marriage, the family and the legacy to follow. It’s to remember that things won’t always be perfect, and matter how busy life gets, it’s the reminder of commitment and love that helps overcome obstacles.
Matt and Candace beautifully support each other and whatever they do and their wedding day was a celebration of this.
